TIE advanced interceptor

The TIE advanced interceptor is a new class of heavy fighter. Armed with 4 laser cannons and equipped with a state-of-the-art shield system and hyperspace drive. Whilst all of these additions add a lot of extra bulk and weight to the design, it's advanced airframe ensures that it is almost as manoeuvrable as the classic TIE Interceptor, whilst only slightly slower at sublight speeds. This class is intended to be a long range scout that can operate free from a Star Destroyer base for long periods. It can also be retrofitted with a ground assault payload, making it a very effective tactical bomber.
